Hypnobirthing with Lucy
Giving practical and constructive tools to guide you through your pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
The techniques you learn in hypnobirthing when applied in birth can give you a deeply enriching, calm and much more positive birthing experience. It is simple to learn and with practise can be applied to life in all shapes and forms!
I decided to train as a hypnobirthing practitioner with
Katherine Graves, www.kghypnbirthing.com in 2011 and spread the word.

Please download the video below from Lisa and Simon explaining how hypnobirthing can help you. Thankyou Lisa and Simon for doing this for me.
I bring my experience as a hypnobirthing instructor, as well as my skill and knowledge as a qualified nurse and birth doula. In an informal relaxed atmosphere you will learn Katherine Graves Hypnobirthing techniques which will help you relax and keep you focused during the birth of your baby.
Ten hours of hypnobirthing instruction delivered uniquely and imaginatively. I have been practising and teaching KG hypnobirthing for 12 years in the Surrey area. I teach in small groups or one-to-one here, at my doula den GU5, or in your home, at a time to suit you.

I am completely flexible as as to whether you want to do a full 10hr course, or a shortened course or any combination that suits you and your specific needs.
If you have already had a baby and just want to do a 'top up' to remind yourselves of the unfolding of labour.
Most couples opt for the private full course taught in their own time. It is spread throughout your pregnancy, usually 5 sessions of 2 hours, with the last session when you are 37-38 weeks.
Should you opt for a private course then these sessions are tailored very much to your specific needs whether that is an underlying concern, or perhaps you want to explore your options further, or that you feel you need extra support with planning your birth, or it could be that with your work commitments you are unable to attend any of the group hypnobirthing courses offered elsewhere.
I teach hypnobirthing for couples who choose a caesarian.
More and more Mums are choosing to have Caesarians and hypnobirthing can help keep you calm and focused as well as being more informed of the caesarian procedure itself.

Hypnobirthing is based on the work of Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, an English physician who practised in London circa 1930s. He questioned why there is so much pain associated with childbirth.
He believed that fear and tension were responsible for 95 percent of the pain experienced during labour, and that it could be reduced or even completely eliminated with relaxation techniques. |
The benefits of Hypnobirthing are huge, for the mother, the partner and the baby. Making informed confident decisions, which are based on knowledge and preferences, rather than fear and ignorance, can give you a feeling of empowerment and ownership of your birth. Trusting in your body's ability as it works together and connects with your baby.

Even in the event that intervention is advised, hypnobirthing can be used to remain calm and focused while remaining part of the decision making process.
Having a less stressful entrance into the world has implications on everyone, especially, breastfeeding, bonding and sleep patterns. It has also been shown that there is less chance of tearing through antenatal preparation, deep breathing and being relaxed.
